Hello!
It's time to make plans for the 2023-2024 school year. I use continual enrollment, so if you are not planning on returning, please let me know before July 1st. On July 1st, you'll receive an invoice for registration for the upcoming year. The easiest way to pay your invoices is by clicking the "Pay" button on the bottom of the invoice. This also ensures that your payment was recorded.
I will get in touch with you about schedules for the fall. Families are given priority to keep their current times.
Families enrolled with Varela Music Studio are asked to read the Studio Policies every year, whether it be your first year or not. This will ensure we are on the same page.
Local Performances
On Friday, June 23, local child pianist will give a concert at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church at 6:00pm in preparation for his trip to perform in Italy.

Florida State Music Teacher Assocation Student Day Exams are coming up. I call this the Olympics of Piano Events. Students will play 2-3 pieces by memory, demonstrate several technical skills, like scales, chords, and arpeggios. Students also take a written theory test. Many levels also take an aural skills test. The written and aural tests will be done at home on a computer. The keyboard skills and performance test will be done in person on Saturday, May 6. Bring your piano books to Student Day to present to the judge.
To Take Theory Exams
Go to: FSMTA Non-Competitive Events - Florida State Music Teachers Association (fmta.org) and scroll down and click on the Lion Theory Online Exam blue button. You'll need to create an account. Online tests should be completed by the end of Saturday, May 6.
